Dziś Polish Sue złożyła hołd ofiarom Rzezi Wołyńskiej, odwiedzając Narodowy Memoriał Ofiar Ludobójstwa na Wołyniu w Domostawie na Podkarpaciu.

Przed monumentalnym pomnikiem zapalono znicz – symbol pamięci, modlitwy i szacunku wobec tysięcy niewinnych polskich ofiar.

Ludobójstwo dokonane w latach 1943–1945 przez ukraińskich nacjonalistów – OUN-UPA na ludności polskiej Kresów Wschodnich II Rzeczypospolitej było zaplanowaną i systematyczną eksterminacją Polaków.

Ginęły całe polskie rodziny – kobiety, dzieci i osoby starsze – często mordowane w swoich domach, przy użyciu narzędzi gospodarskich.

Przez dziesięciolecia pamięć o tej zbrodni była marginalizowana. Ofiary pozostawały bez grobów, a ich potomkowie bez miejsca żałoby i refleksji.

Memoriał w Domostawie przywraca im należną godność i miejsce w historii.

Centralnym elementem memoriału jest monumentalna rzeźba autorstwa prof. Andrzeja Pityńskiego, przedstawiająca matkę trzymającą martwe dziecko, przebitą widłami. To jedno z najmocniejszych artystycznych świadectw Rzezi Wołyńskiej – bez upiększeń, bez przemilczeń.

Pomnik nie pozwala przejść obojętnie. Przypomina, że nie był to „konflikt etniczny”, lecz ludobójstwo bezbronnej polskiej ludności cywilnej przez ukraińskich nacjonalistów z UPA.

Narodowy Memoriał Ofiar Ludobójstwa na Wołyniu ma charakter upamiętniający, edukacyjny i moralny.

Jest miejscem modlitwy, refleksji i prawdy historycznej. Pojednanie nie może istnieć bez nazwania zbrodni po imieniu – a pamięć ofiar nie podlega negocjacjom.

Dzisiejsza wizyta reprezentacji Polish Sue Association i zapalenie znicza były wyrazem solidarności z ofiarami oraz zobowiązaniem do dalszego upominania się o prawdę i pamięć.

Nie o zemstę, lecz o pamięć wołają ofiary.

Domostawa – Paying Tribute to the Victims of the Volhynia Genocide – Polish Sue honours the Poles murdered by UPA.

Today, Polish Sue paid tribute to the Polish victims of the Volhynia Genocide by visiting the National Memorial to the Victims of the Volhynia Genocide in Domostawa, in south-eastern Poland.

A candle was lit at the memorial as a symbol of remembrance, prayer and respect for the thousands of innocent Polish victims.

The genocide committed between 1943 and 1945 by the Ukrainian OUN-UPA against the Polish population of the Eastern Borderlands of the Second Polish Republic was a planned and systematic extermination of Polish civilians. Entire families were murdered – women, children and the elderly – often in their own homes and with extreme brutality.

For decades, the memory of these crimes was suppressed or marginalised.

The victims were denied graves, and their families were denied a place of mourning.

The memorial in Domostawa restores dignity, memory and historical justice.

The central element of the memorial is a monumental sculpture by Professor Andrzej Pityński, depicting a mother holding her dead child, pierced by a pitchfork. It is one of the most powerful artistic testimonies to the Volhynia Genocide – uncompromising and deeply moving.

This monument does not allow indifference.

It reminds us that this was not an “ethnic conflict”, but a genocide of defenceless civilians.

The National Memorial in Domostawa serves a commemorative, educational and moral purpose.

It is a place for prayer, reflection and historical truth.

Reconciliation cannot exist without truth, and the memory of the victims must never be subject to political compromise.

Today’s visit by Polish Sue Association’s representative and the lighting of a candle reaffirm a commitment to remembrance, truth and responsibility.

The victims do not cry out for revenge, but for memory.
