A major announcement that captured international attention could prove to be a turning point for Poland’s defence industry and its strategic partnership with the United States. During a recent public address, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the American defence technology company Anduril Industries will manufacture Barracuda missiles in Poland, describing the decision as an investment made “for Poland.”

The announcement immediately sparked interest among defence analysts, policymakers and industry experts, as it suggests a further deepening of military and technological cooperation between Warsaw and Washington.

During his remarks, President Trump also praised Poland’s leadership, stating:

“Anduril will manufacture Barracuda missiles in Poland. We are doing this for Poland. Poland has a very good President today—I think even a great President.”

The statement comes at a time when Poland continues to strengthen its position as one of NATO’s most committed members. Over the past several years, the country has dramatically increased defence spending, invested in modern military capabilities, and expanded cooperation with key allies, particularly the United States.

Strengthening NATO’s Eastern Flank

The potential establishment of Barracuda missile production in Poland would represent far more than another defence contract. It would signal growing confidence in Poland as a strategic manufacturing and technological hub for advanced military systems.
