🇵🇱🇺🇸 Polish Sue was delighted and honoured to accept the invitation of the U.S. Consulate General in Kraków to participate in the celebrations marking the 250th Anniversary of the Independence of the United States of America.

The prestigious event brought together representatives of public life, diplomacy, business, and the Polish-American community to celebrate one of the most significant milestones in American history.

The evening was not only a commemoration of the founding of the United States but also a celebration of the enduring friendship between Poland and America, built upon shared values of freedom, democracy, courage, and respect for human dignity.

One of the most inspiring moments of the evening was a speech by U.S. Ambassador Tom Rose, highlighting the principles upon which the United States was founded.

The words spoken during the event emphasised that America judges people not by their birth, family background, or inherited status, but by what they contribute to society, what they create, and the responsibility they are willing to undertake.

The speech also paid tribute to Poland’s extraordinary struggle for freedom throughout history.

It acknowledged that no nation has fought longer, sacrificed more, or demonstrated greater perseverance in defence of liberty than Poland. Despite partitions, occupations, tyranny, and unimaginable destruction, the Polish nation preserved its identity, faith, and unwavering commitment to freedom.

Another powerful reflection focused on the historical significance of the American Revolution. For most of human history, freedom was the exception rather than the rule, while power remained concentrated in the hands of monarchs, emperors, and ruling elites.

The birth of the United States represented a revolutionary idea — that government derives its legitimacy from the people and that liberty is a universal aspiration rather than a privilege reserved for a few.

The celebrations come at a particularly significant moment for Polish-American relations.

Recently, President Karol Nawrocki visited the United States, where he met with President Donald J. Trump. During his visit, President Nawrocki attended the UFC Freedom 250 Gala in Washington, organised as part of the commemorations marking the 250th anniversary of American independence and President Trump’s 80th birthday.

Following the celebrations, U.S. Ambassador Tom Rose praised the event, stating:

“Congrats to the U.S. Consulate General in Krakow on a magnificent #America250 celebration yesterday. Under President Donald J. Trump, the U.S.-Poland friendship has never been brighter. May God’s blessings continue to shine upon our two nations.”
